In a windy suburb of Cape Town a windbreak was the answer to make an area in a lovely private garden more user friendly when the South Easter blows. Six large glass sheets were placed in a row overlapping diagonally about 50cm apart. Onto the glass sheets kiln-fired coloured glass elements were laminated with a UV adhesive.
The design depicts sails and canoes in outline, and thin strands of crystal clear glass can be interpreted as spiky vegetation.
