David Reade is without doubt South Africa’s best known glass blower. As a highly skilled and competent glass technician he has earned this position. He has exhibited all over South Africa and his work is sought after by collectors locally and abroad.
The Welsh-born artist trained as a glass blower on the Isle of Wight. In 1984 he emigrated to South Africa.

In 1986 David established a studio in Worcester, and in 1992 he moved to a renovated old barn that became his present studio. He also exhibits his work alongside the paintings of his wife, artist Lorna Reade, in their Barn Gallery, a well-known destination for any glass and art enthusiast.
